CHT Healthcare Trust to build the new care hospital at Karaka Lifestyle Estate

Care, compassion and financial ethics align at Karaka Lifestyle Estate’s new managed care facility.

Karaka Pines Villages is working with CHT Healthcare Trust, a leading aged residential care provider with over 55 years’ experience to build a comprehensive managed care facility at their new Karaka Lifestyle Estate retirement community in South Auckland.

Karaka Pines Villages is known for a unique financial model.

Throughout New Zealand, Karaka Pines Villages is developing ‘Next Generation’ Villages, where the residents get the benefit of capital gain in their homes. Experience has shown that residents who’ve sold their home at a Karaka Pines Village have come out with hundreds of thousands of dollars more from their property than people who sold comparable places in other retirement communities.

Adding this care facility to their new Karaka Lifestyle Estate development means residents will also benefit from access to top quality rest home, hospital and respite care, moments from their homes.

Karaka Pines Villages CEO Adam Yates and CHT Healthcare Trust Chief Executive Max Robins have enjoyed a long professional relationship since working together as members of the New Zealand Private Hospitals’ Association. Their shared vision of offering New Zealanders fair value for money, blended with care, comfort, compassion and quality of life are clearly demonstrated by this new project.

Adam Yates says, “It was important to us that the care facility will meet the needs of residents, and also be place where their family and friends feel welcome.”

Max Robins says “We are thrilled to be involved in this project and look forward to bringing our extensive expertise and resources to life at this unique development.”

The new care facility joins the 25 retirement units already occupied or under construction and another 284 units planned for Karaka Lifestyle Estate. The entire property is located in expansive parklike grounds on the upper reaches of the Manukau Harbour near the new Auranga town centre.

Building of the care facility  is due to start shortly and it’s expected to open in 2023.

Karaka Pines Villages has five other villages in development in popular retirement locations: Rototuna and Hillcrest in Hamilton, Bethlehem in Tauranga, Rotorua, and Rolleston near Christchurch.
